We have our key man, Martin Raffauf, on the ground at the Rolex 24 at Daytona reporting for Porsche Road & Race, and he has sent a few shots of the happenings there on 23 January 2018. This was the first day of this great event where activities were limited to unpacking and scrutineering.

Day 1 – Rolex 24 at Daytona, 23 January 2018
The calm before the storm! The GT team’s trucks are lined up in the paddock prior to opening of the garages at the Daytona 24. Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Acura, Lexus are some of the manufacturers here
No running, just unloading today. Amazingly there are only five Porsches in this year’s Daytona 24 Hours, two GTLM and three GTD cars. This is the #59 Manthey-Racing GTD 911 GT3 R driven by a team of five drivers: Sven Müller, Matteo Cairoli, Steve Smith, Randy Walls and Harald Proczyk
This is the #73 Park Place Motorsports GTD 911 GT3 R driven by Jörg Bergmeister, Patrick Lindsey, Timothy Pappas and Norbert Siedler
