This is Stéphane Coradi’s third publication, and the third of his books that I am reviewing. It must be said that Stéphane’s enthusiasm for his work is so irrepressible, it’s contagious. But that is refreshing, because he really encourages the contributors to show their work in his books and it is paying off for those artists because he goes the extra mile in trying to give them as much coverage as possible.

Coradi’s website, itsmyworld.fr, showcases the three books he has published, plus the wide array of post cards and goodies he has available, plus the really great calendar that he has now produced for 2021. This is the first artistic calendar to pay homage to the ‘terrifying beauty’ of the 917, commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of Porsche’s first win at Le Mans. It is also the first calendar paying homage to the Pilots du Mythe with the strapline: 12 months – 12 cylinders – 12 birthdays of the ‘Heroes of the 917’. Be sure to get yourself one, because they really do look great!

Back to this new publication, and the author has pulled together a really impressive collection of work by dozens of artists including photographers, designers, painters, 3D designers and makers of hand-made objects, all relating to Porsche. Coradi obviously has an eye for what looks good on the page, as the consideration he has given to the layout of each page is impressive. Coradi has corralled no less than 60 artists, and the book consists of 250 illustrations with the Foreword written by none other than Derek Bell.

The Itsmyworld concept is a tribute to the beauty of Porsche lines and their racing colours, through many varied artistic creations. Words are few and far between in this publication, but the style and colour of the artwork and photography is what catches the eye as this is the raison d’être for the existence of this book in the first place. From the humble 356 to the mighty 917, Moby Dick, Baby, 936, 956/962 and the later models such as the 911 RSR (991) and 919 Hybrid – they are all covered in this edition. The styles presented by each artist or photographer is so different that each page offers a new experience, and as such, it is the type of book you can dip-in-dip-out of whenever you want.

This book has more pages than his previous two works, but a visit to the website will present you with the option of buying just this edition, or all three publications in a bundle. As the author tells you on his website, each order is hand crafted individually so you can expect to receive an artistically created envelope with your address meticulously written in Coradi’s calligraphic style. The envelope is a work of art, and might also be something that you want to keep, just for the care he puts into every order.

Coradi’s Racing Porsche with Style offers the reader a refreshing and fun look at Porsche motorsport through the eye of the artist and the photographer. As the author says, the name PORSCHE stands for Originality, Aesthetics and Exquisite Workmanship. These same values are found in the DNA of the Itsmyworld concept…enjoy!
