Between 5th and 9th February, the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre in Paris hosted the 2020 edition of Retromobile. This year’s edition, boosted by the continuing success of previous years, was considered a huge success as massive crowds were seen both outside the entrance as well as inside the exhibition. But the most significant indicator was the quality of the road and race cars on display. Among the exhibitors, there were many garages and companies who specialised in classic car restoration, auction houses, classic car or specific car clubs, resellers of particular spare parts for classic cars, books, memorabilia and scale model resellers. This was a unique opportunity to see a multitude of road and race cars, prepared and displayed in such excellent condition, and all under one roof. Some of the cars on display were extremely valuable due to their rarity, but also because of their provenance.

1986 Pre-Series Porsche 959 V5
1986 Pre-Series Porsche 959 V5 – internally the code V stood for ‘PRE-SERIES’. This car is the original Porsche 959 factory test car. This was the prototype for the first Porsche roadgoing supercar, the 959, and was driven by Dr Ferdinand Piëch himself during the testing phase. It was presented by Messina Classics

PORSCHE ROAD & RACE was keen not to miss such an event, and in case you were not able to be there, we invite you to feast your eyes on our gallery below showing some of the Porsche models on display.
